"Warrington is a divided community, both geographically with the river Mersey acting as a natural dividing line, with it's parliamentary consitituencies of Warrington North & Warrington South,

However, I would suggest that this division does not go far enough, and that Warrington South should be completley independant from the North of the town and have it's own local authority.

Having gained substantial independent wealth via my own business, I find it frankly galling that the money I pay to Warrington Borough Council in taxes should end up wasted on the ne'er-do-wells on the ghastly council estates in Longford and Dallam.

One hates to sound smug but it is obvious that Warrington South, with its affluence, expensive housing, abundant greenery and better class of person , is a very different entity to Warrington North, with its grim little terraces and flats and it's proliferation of drug takers, dole scroungers and criminal riff-raff

We who live in Warrington can acknowledge thia obvious divide but people outside the town may be less well informed and might tend to lump us all together, resulting in Warrington Southseeming a less desirable place to live and consequently affecting our property prices.

I strongly feel that devolution for Warrington South , with perhaps even being renamed to lose the Warrington identity completley, would be hugely beneficial in sorting the wheat from the chaff
