I would criticize Rafa for all recent results. He's a good tactician, but this isn't a computer game, you can't win games with good tactics. He underestimates the role, the importance of players in the team. All players are brought "to strengthen" the squad. WHY?

Bring only quality players, not good players! You want to win the league? Then you must have the quality players that's it. Again, IMO, LFC has 2-3 real quality players, others are average or slightly average.

And one more thing, to win the league you must have a good attack. If you don't have good attack and don't keep busy the opposition, then you will defend 80-100% of the time. Let's face the fact, attack is just s****. And defence isn't as good too.

I think JC, Hyypia aren't that bad, also you have Agger, Paletta, bright young players. In short, defence is OK(nothing special, mind) and midfield isn't bad. But attacking players are s****, they aren't real threat, they are not creating problems for opposition.

Rafa is the manager, he didn't get the right players in 3 years. I would blame him.

I get the feeling hes out thinking himself too much in this league. The PL isnt a very techncial league sometimes with his team selection hes been too clever i understand his thinking about trying to keep the players fresh and with CL games being so important thats a consideration when we have midweek games, but its so important to start the year well to get some momentumn and once again that hasnt happended.

 

I dont see other top teams that had many players involved in the world cup rotatting as much. Even Chelsea with all their resources keep 90% of their team the same most weeks.

 

Last season it took Rafa a while to get a consistent team selection but when we found that formula we went on some great runs, at the moment, our key players arent playing well which makes things harder.

 

So yes Rafa must take some of the blame, but our key players like Stevie, Carra, Alonso, Sissoko arent playing well.

I think Rijkaard is afraid of star names sometimes.

I don't get his team selection sometimes. I think Iniesta is a superb player, may be even better than Xavi and Deco right now. There's absolutely no way he should be on the bench IMO. The other thing is, Marquez is better than Thuram IMO and Gio is better than Sylvinho in my book.

Oh, forgot to say, I have been watching Eidur all season and he's total crap. I don't get why we didn't buy anyone good enough or at least play Saviola. Gudjonsen wasn't anything special for many games and he was s**** against Chelsea. I don't get why Rijkaard put him against Madrid...

Saying our players aren't good enough is hard to argue against when we're struggling to put to passes together. But I think they are better than there showing and it's now up to Rafa to sort it out.
