News could be worse.

Looked like JAR would be out for months.

Would be surprised if Riise's ankle isn't severely hurt, it looks broken the way it was caught under.

He'd be out for more than a month, it seems.

Carra didn't look too serious

from another site (wont post it) it reports both sprained ankles, both will miss the cl game but should be good soon. Nothing major, Riise had a scan at the ground due to their excellent facilities which showed no break.

supposedly but sounds plausable...

carra's didn't look that serious, but then he previously tried to play on with a broken leg. shocking challenge from rob hulse as well, couldn't believe he wasn't booked.

how long is a sprained ankle out for? a month realistically?

Tight groin, think he should be OK for Tuesday

Cheers mate. I think we'll be fine on Tuesday. Then we can really start the league.

REDS DUO SIDELINED

Steve Hunter 20 August 2006

Liverpool have suffered a double injury blow with the news that Jamie Carragher and John Arne Riise will both be missing for the next fortnight after scans on Sunday morning confirmed the club's initial medical diagnosis.

Both players were forced to leave the field injured during Saturday's 1-1 draw at Sheffield United.

The scans showed that Carragher has sustained a sprained medial ligament in his left ankle while Riise has torn lateral ligaments in his left ankle.

A Liverpool spokesman said: "We expect both players to be unable to train for the next two to three weeks."
