Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has moved to allay fears about Harry Kewell's participation in the World Cup.

Kewell was forced off in the FA Cup final success over West Ham when he injured his groin in running out for the second half.

The Australian wide man is set to be sidelined for two weeks but Benitez is confident that Kewell, along with Xabi Alonso - who was also substituted due to injury - will be fit to play in Germany.

"I think he will be fit for the World Cup,'' said Benitez. ''It's not serious."

While in celebrating Liverpool's victory in what was one of the best FA Cup finals in history Benitez has been quick to praise his team rather than individuals, he has reserved special praise for his goalkeeper Jose Reina.

The Spanish shot-stopper was badly at fault for Dean Ashton's goal and had a shaky game throughout but in the shoot-out he excelled, saving three of West Ham's penalties to lead his side to victory.

"He is famous in Spain for saving penalties and we had confidence in him,'' concluded Benitez.

"Our goalkeeping coach spoke to him before the penalties and told him he had the intuition to save them.

"He has done his job today.''

I like that. Rafa is no nonsense. He's right, Pepe did his job today - he did it well although the lad is right to not overplay his role in it.
