Some Italian guy on RAWK is saying the media over there are reporting that Aqualini has had a change of heart and wants to stay. He was supposed to come over tomorrow apparently. He also said it could just be Roma trying to squeeze more money out of us, which could explain the sudden link to Poulsen to bluff them.
All the broadsheets are reporting 30 million quid. Hopefully that's without add ons. Have to say, I'm a little concerned about filling the void. We were on the verge of finally winning the title for the first time in 20 years, and Alonso was a major part of that.
I've been disapointed with him recently but it could have been a whole lot worse. You have to put his whole time here into context and he's been nothing but a credit to the club on and off the pitch and epitomised everything that I expect from a Liverpool player. So I wish him luck from a personal perspective...and hopefully Madrid go down.
Didn't see anything on SSN. I like Poulsen though - good, intelligent, industrious CM, but lacks the class of Alonso. If we're after him Rafa must want to spend the bulk of his cash on other positions.
Painful, painful viewing. Rafa really was struggling with the league at that point, rotating rubbish players for fun. Although deep down I don't think anyone really gave a f*** about the league by then.
We were a goalkeeping graveyard for a while. Even Dudek looked world class for a season before the curse got him. James was the worst though. That desperate flap at home against Coventry when we were going for the title, and the smug grin on his face. I bet he went home not giving a f***.
