Without a doubt! I don't think the captains job is that significant. If Gary Neville can captain a title winning team, anyone can. It all depends on the 11 men on the field.

Are you saying Liverpool can't win if Gerrard doesn't play well? What if he wasn't the captain - would we then be able to win , even if he had a stinker ? I'll make a bold/controversial statement . I don't think Liverpool will win the title until Steven Gerrard has better players around him.

I don't think Carragher would act any different if he was the captain. In fact he has been captain on occasion and I don't remember any revelation.

I think Carragher berates teammates, rather than shouts words of encouragement. I also don't know what's the big deal about who should be captain, just so long as he can call 'heads' or 'tails'

Expectations are so low about Kuyt, if he doesn't embarrass himself , in a game, he's likely to be in the 'Man Of The Match' trio. I think he defo gets the sympathy vote.
