The usual pompous sh!te from Patrick Barclay, but is that bit even true? I don't remember YNWA being played before matches in the 1980s. When did they start playing YNWA before the matches? I would have said it was the 1990s.

Will be pretty peeved if he's dropped for the Lille game to make way for Lucas. Made more nice passes and quality touches in that game than Lucas has all season.

This is getting ridiculous now. It just smacks of stubborness, and when the team is struggling for results and performances then that's a bad trait to have. If he starts in midweek and plays well then so what? We're out anyway. This was an important two points we dropped today.

I love Rafa, but it's worrying how in every game we look so bereft of ideas that unless Gerrard or Bennynoon produce something, then you can't see a threat coming from anywhere else. Hopefully Aquilani will give us a bit more creativity and get things moving again. Think he would have been better off starting today than at Goodison though.
