http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=39...+unveil+Johnson Toffees unveil Johnson By Graeme Bailey - Created on 31 May 2006 Everton's new club record signing Andy Johnson was delighted after being unveiled at Goodison Park. Johnson was excused England duty - where he is on stand-by with the World Cup party - to finalise his £8.6 million move to Merseyside. "I am absolutely delighted as Everton is one of the biggest clubs in British football and to play in front of 40,000 every week is a big decision," Johnson told Sky Sports News. "We [Johnson and Moyes] had a good chat and he told me about how the club was going forward. "Money in football these days is massive and I can't wait to get the jersey on, obviously it will help my England chances and hopefully I can start scoring week in, week out." Johnson is confident he can soon replicate the form he showed in The Premiership with former club Crystal Palace two seasons ago. "It is not going to be as difficult," he insisted, "I am playing with better players and that will help. "My ambition is to keep on scoring as I have done over the last three or four years and I want to win things, I have come to a massive club. "I want to get back into the England team and hopefully I can score week in, week out." Johnson was also quick to pay tribute to his former club Palace. "I want to say thanks to everyone at Crystal Palace," he said. "Iain Dowie was great and the chairman was excellent - obviously they have problems off the field but that is nothing to do with me now." Manager David Moyes was more than happy with his new purchase. "It is a big signing for us and shows the ambition here," he said. "It is great that the board of directors went and got the money, all I heard was that Andy wanted to come and when I heard that I pushed the board to bring him here. "His goals will be the big thing [he brings], his record over the last two or three years is nearly one in two which is fantastic - he has got pace and ability to hurt people and get in behind them. He fitted all the criteria for a player we wanted, he is young and dare I say he is British." Moyes played down the size of the fee, insisting it was not as big a deal as some people are making out. "£8.5 or £8.6 million - Wigan and Bolton offered that, so the fee might not be as big these days and the new [TV] deal the clubs have been given means you will see more big transfers and I hope you will see more at Everton," he added. "He had a hard choice, Bolton and Wigan have done very well - I am just very pleased he has chosen Everton." Moyes also suggested Everton could be ready to unveil another new signing in the near future - with the likes of Robert Huth and Joleon Lescott strongly linked. "We have always tried to make progress, and hopefully there will be some more new players to talk about," he said.

Here Milan ponder Gerrard bid Tuesday 30 May, 2006 Milan are ready to make Liverpool a mega offer for captain Steven Gerrard, reports in Italy insist on Tuesday. With the Rossoneri set to net around £35m for Andriy Shevchenko from Chelsea, the Italians are ready to use part of those funds to finance a Gerrard bid. The England ace is highly rated in Italy and after initial links with Juventus earlier this year, Milan are now being paired with the star. Milan know all about Gerrard?s quality after he inspired Liverpool?s quite remarkable Champions League Final comeback against the Rossoneri just over a year ago. Boss Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that he is looking to freshen things up in midfield and had already indicated that Juventus? Emerson was wanted. But Gerrard is believed to be his primary objective even if the Anfield outfit have always insisted that he is not for sale. It remains to be seen whether there is any scope for negotiating, which will now probably only take place after the World Cup Finals.

Ukraine scored with their second chance! God I hate DIVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Fecking divers!!!!!! anyways, 20 mins left, we are piling up the pressure.
-
Me mate talked to him last month and he got the feeling that Danny was loving Liverpool. Was waiting for his chance and respected the fact that JC,SH were class center halfs. He was just happy to be at a big club, and knew he would get his chance next season, as long as he could stay fit and gain some upper body strenght. He is our most expensive centerhalf and he is still 21. Don't worry. He is on track. Anyways, Kahlenberg scored five minutes before the half. 1-1. We still have a chance. OMG, We are playing divers today... Hate that sort of stuff...

Two big miss' from Denmark. Arsenal reserve Bendtner and captain Würtz both had good chances. But still 0-0 Ukraine score on their first chance feck!!!
-
Agger is starting...
-
Awesome scenario last night. Portugal beat Germany 1-0 meaning both Portugal and Germany were eliminated. Funny as feck to see 22 players on The pitch crying. Hehe. Denmark is playing Ukraine tonight and have to win to progress from the Group stages. So far, France and Serbia have progressed, Portgual and Germany are out. Tonights matches: Denmark - Ukraine, Holland - Italy. Come on Denmark. PS: Agger may not start after taking a quite vile knock on the eye.

When Houllier promoted Gerrard he said Gerrard was going to be the best in europe inside five years. How right he was...

Arnesen was brought for his know-how and his connections. Paying 5 mil for him is nothing, if he can save 10 mil on the next deal because of his connections. Remember he was the one who discovered Romario and Ronaldo. Just as an example.
