If we win great, if we don't we still be a stonger team next season, of that I have no doubt.

I just want us to win to shut up the Irish chelsea fan on 606 last week saying how they would win easily, our **** record against them, Luis's goal etc, etc etc, (well I want us to win more than that, but I had to have the whinge ;) )

Look back to this time last year - that Semi-Final was (IMO) far bigger than the one tomorrow and we beat them. Do you think that had real major long-term implications on Chelsea? It didn't seem to play on their minds when they stuffed us at Anfield earlier in the season.

Its a one off game, Chelsea know we are hard to beat and they know we will challenge them next season. Both teams also realise that whoever wins this should go on and win the cup. Long term it means nothing, bragging rights and the want for 'revenge' at most.

It's a semi final, I couldnt give a feck who it's against or even what competition, we want to win it and win the cup this season. Dont think its anymore than that.

Right, and that's where I am coming from. Another victory for them and I don't see us as being in any particularly strong position to challenge them. We beat them and I think we have far more reason to think we might.

It's more important for us than for them.

I just don't see it as being an issue when we line up against them next in the League - which might not be for 7 or 8 months. And as I say, we beat them this time last year and so should have had the psychological upper hand - but then they tw**ed us in the league at Anfield.

Can't see it having any bearing on next season at all.

I'm nervous because with 2nd being very unlikely now, and 3rd being secured, it is effectively the end of our season if we lose.

The league over the past few years has completely changed. The winners barely lose a game. Therefore, The top four really need to take points of each other. This season we got 4 points against the top 3 clubs(Arsenal included) out of a possible 18. We need to be getting a minimum of 9 against them to have a shout. Therefore head to head games with Chelsea take on a big significance, even in the Cup. A win tommorow on top of denying them in the CL semi last season will send a signal to Jose and his rent boys.
