British film The Constant Gardener is set for Bafta glory with 10 nominations at this year?s awards.

The nominations, announced today, include best actress for Golden Globe-winning Rachel Weisz and best actor for her co-star Ralph Fiennes.

The movie, based on the John Le Carre novel, has also been nominated for best film, direction, British film, adapted screenplay, film music, cinematography, editing and sound.

Gay cowboy film Brokeback Mountain has nine nominations, the same number as Crash, the US film acclaimed for tackling the subject of racial conflict.

Keira Knightley was snubbed in the best actress category but the film she starred in, Pride and Prejudice, took six nominations, including British film and the supporting actress category for Brenda Blethyn.

The best actress nominees are Judi Dench for Mrs Henderson Presents, Charlize Theron for North Country, Reese Witherspoon for Walk The Line and Ziyi Zhang for Memoirs of a Geisha.

George Clooney is set for success with his new film Good Night And Good Luck, which he directed.

The true life story about a TV anchorman battling with authorities during the period of America?s anti-Communist witch hunt is up for best film and best actor for David Strathairn amongst its six nominations.

Clooney himself gets two nominations in the supporting actor category, for Good Night And Good Luck and Syriana .

Some of the biggest films of the year such as King Kong, Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire and The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe have missed out on the main awards.

Wallace And Gromit: The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit has the nomination for British film and will be battling it out for the title with Pride And Prejudice, The Constant Gardener, A c**k And Bull Story and Festival.

Brokeback Mountain, The Constant Gardener and Good Night And Good Luck are up against Capote and Crash for best film.

The Constant Gardener star Fiennes and Good Night And Good Luck?s Strathairn compete with Heath Leger for Brokeback Mountain, Joaquin Phoenix for Walk The Line and Philip Seymour Hoffman for Capote for leading actor.

Clooney is nominated with Jake Gyllenhaal for Brokeback Mountain and Crash stars Matt Dillon and Don Cheadle for supporting actor.

Pride And Prejudice Blethyn?s competition for the supporting actress gong are Michelle Williams (Brokeback Mountain), Thandie Newton (Crash), Frances McDormand (North Country) and Catherine Keener (Capote).

Lee (Brokeback Mountain), Clooney (Good Night And Good Luck) and Fernando Meirelles, acclaimed for the film about Brazilian gang warfare City Of God, and now nominated for the Constant Gardener, are up against Paul Haggis (Crash) and Bennett Miller (Capote) in the prestigious best director character.
