Murphman Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Every club has 'em but we have a lad who is simply ridiculously long. A two handicapper last week he birdied our 558 yard par five in benign conditions hitting the green with a driver and a SEVEN iron.... It's obviously the equipment as well as superb technique, John Daly was the tour's second longest driver in 1996 with an average that wouldn't make the top 150 now. You can't keep making the courses longer and more hazard strewn, the likes of St Andrews are now a piece off piss unless the wind blows. Time to decompress the ball methinks....
