trip to Oslo

lets say I fly to Oslo in January

 

how do I get to do things like ride skiddos or dogsleighs in the snow? how near is it and how do I get there?

 

would ideally like to do something like have one night in Oslo and then take a train to some ice lodge, or the Ice Hotel itself, in Sweden, where one can do various excursions of this type

 

sorry if this sounds a bit lame but I've not been anywhere in Scandanavia and I'm having trouble finding the info on tintertnet

 

eg apparently there is an overnight train from Oslo to the Ice hotel but the Norwegian railways site has no info on it
