Class or Heart

Do we lack the class to match it with the top two? Or do we suffer more so than Arsenal when it comes to heart?

 

There is no doubt that the style of football that we have played away from home this season has been slightly (if not greatly in some cases) modified to suit certain players in each and every game. We bought over the summer to ensure that we had more pace and more quality. But from the purchases that we have made, how many of them can your honestly say have been good? Kuyt? .

 

The most alarming thing however is the constant lack of effort that I see in our team. Is that down to the coach? Does he fire the lads up enough before the game?

 

I am an Australian, but I have been following football as long as I remember, and the one thing you always knew about the English was there heart, THEY NEVER GAVE UP.

 

Now most will argue that we only have 2 and at times 4 UK based players. But of the 4 or even 5 besides STEVIE and CARRA and Bellamy who else busts a gut?

Don?t even go near Pennant, and Crouch at times seems so overly settled is a joke. Kuyt is probably the only other foreign player next to Momo who absolutely gives his all every game. Even Stevie at times seems to have a lack of Motivation and when he is in this mood we seem to suffer greatly.

 

I honestly believe we are lacking 2-4 top top players to make an impact. But even with that, who's to say that these players will add the grunt and the determination needed in order to win home and away?

 

I think that Chelsea and even United this year, are a f***ing great example of having these mixes. Chelsea over the last 3 season's have not had the best team in Europe (or England some would say) but the main reason they are so f***ing consistent is because they have that FIGHT!! the FIGHT that is needed to not only win the league, but retain it.

 

That is also the difference with United this year. Yes they are playing some great passing football, but they are FIGHTING all over the pitch this year. A majority of second balls are being won by both these teams, and that is not down to luck, NOT over 15 league games.

 

So what?s the solution? f***ED if I know. I love Rafa and I don?t want him to ever go, but I am starting to think that maybe he might have something to do with the heart that we show on the pitch. If Blackburn, Bolton, Everton (dare I say it) and the other 2 can all do it, WHY THE f*** CANT WE?
