"Mates" who are mingebags.

Had two spares for the Arsenal away game yesterday and arranged to meet a mate to sell them on. He turned up and I promptly handed over the tickets and he goes, "Do you want the cash now?" Immediatley I responded, "Do you want the tickets now?" making it clear it was a dual-transaction. Do I want the money now! What kind of stupid question is that? I half thought he might be skint and considered telling him to pay me when he could afford it but he opened his wallet and there must have been a grand in it! Then I'D have felt like a leper begging him for MY money in the future! Why do people do that, especially with mates?
