Guest Phil C Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 What the hell is wrong for BT?!!! My girlfriend and I moved house nearly a month ago and asked BT to transfer our broadband connection from one house to another. Seemingly a relatively simple process...NOT!! We had the phone connected but the broadband wasn't, so we reported it immediately (I need it for work). I was given a fault number - which has never been referred to since.... I have received 8 different phone calls from ladies and gentleman from Delhi call centre to inform me that the fault was fixed. When I told them that it was still faulty, they'd take me through the same tests on the Router, which lasts about 15 minutes each time. Each time they say that they'll have to create a new fault and report it to the Faults department...a cynical move by BT to ensure that they keep within repair time targets, no doubt! I sense that the call centre staff have no authority at all over the BT engineers and believe that they're doing the best they can but are at the mercy of the UK based Fault's department. You can hear the frustration in their voices, these people are really trying to help but they're being given the run around, being told lies and are taking the flak from customers as a result...I end up feeling sorry for them! So, the question is....if the fault lies in the exchange, can I move to another broadband provider or will they just inherit the same fault from BT? Any suggestions as to what I should do would be gratefull received?
