Liverpool on TV in the USA

[Nebraska Red]

The number of Reds games we are able to watch over here may be reduced next season.

I got my regular update E mail from Soccer TV and this little nugget was included.

"English Premier League---------------------- No more pay-per-view in the US! More details coming soon! 2006-2007 season will start on Saturday August 19."

Will advise if and when more details are out there.

GolTv was showing LiverpoolFC TV towards the end of last season, they would show the previous weekend's game on a Tuesday.

I'm not surprised that they are dropping PPV, $20 a game is a rip off, if they dropped it to $5 that would entice more people to watch them.

More pig sodomy and cow tipping from Arkansas then!

Someone over on one of the tivo forums mentioned something about potential HD broadcast of EPL games for next season.

I've no idea who would carry it or where the bandwidth would come from, but I hope this doesn't mean less footy.

Maybe Setanta got the rights? they had the UEFA games for pool

It would be great if the games were free.. I paid for the EPL package on Directv. think it was 269 last year.

I work for one of the cable companies on the east coast and seem to remember hearing something about the games being made available via a subscription service on Video On Demand. I'll see what I can find out from our marketing folks (usually useless) and also our PPV and On Demand vendors and report back. Would be gutted tbh since I have been able to see almost all of the Reds games the last few seasons between cable and satellite.
