This was my second-ever game at Anfield.

Tony Hateley claimed a hat-trick in our 6-1 Anfield trouncing of Nottingham Forest on this day in 1968, his second treble of the season. Roger Hunt added a brace, with Ian St. John also on target.

Being small and standing in a big crowd, I mustard mitt I didn't see a huge amount at all. My uncle usually took me to Goodison where we could sit down and see it all but the sight of Roger Hunt and the huge figure of Tony Hately, seeming to me the picture of perfect health, confirmed in me a greater love for Liverpool than Everton.
