  1. this is the weirdest place to be in right now.. it's as if tomorrow's just a game and if we win the league that'll be a laugh and a bonus. Bizarre how Tuesday night and the sense of zero expectation has changed the perspective on this... but if City are dropping points with 10 minutes to go and we're winning I'm sure the tension will ratchet up.. right now it's flatline..

Spot on. This feels like a free hit for me.

  2. Brighton are well up for this. Mat Ryan was in our local Merc garage the other day, and told a mate that they want to leave their footprint on the title. It’s also Bruno’s last game too, so the crowd will be well up for this, plus there are nearly as many Reds down here as there are Albion fans.

Not holding out a lot of hope, but then again I wasn’t on Tuesday.

  3. But then i got thinking about the bandage he wears on his wrist/hand and started to wonder if there was anything in it?

Obviously just thinking out loud here.

The bandage is a 'Puta'. It's a symbol of good fortune in Uruguay. I think his kids names are tattooed underneath it on his wrist, hence his goal celebrations.

the press in this country wont be happy til they chase him out. theres a horrible xenophobia in UK sports media, and its very seldom they actually take to someone not of these shores. the premier league will be a poorer one for it as well, they're essentially hounding out its best player and the payer more likely to get viewing figures n the TV. Suarez, for all his ills, is box office. I want to keep him, i want him to stay at Liverpool the rest of his career and for him to leave in about 7 or 8 years time having won the lot. He is a lunatic, and you cant go about biting people, but the length of the bans he has received have been ridiculous. He's one of ours, and until that changes, he'll get my 100% backing, and all his detractors can f***ing do one

    :applause:

  4. Liverpool fans are basically the only people complaining about the punishment, if fact a number of others thought the punishment should have been more.

Appeals are there for a purpose, very rarely do they work on the theory that the punishment was to severe, it's more for people to appeal on the fact that the correct actions were not followed during the case.

    Why not save your breath.

Good job Barcelona didn't think like that or they wouldn't even be linked to Suarez.

  5. Course there is. Ban him from this World Cup, the qualifiers for and the next South American Championship, the next WC qualifiers, the next WC, whatever.....

What they have done is just plain mental.

    Exactly. Corrupt c*nts.

  6. How can they ban him from even entering a stadium?

What's their definition of a stadium?

Are they going to have him watched 24/7 to catch him in the act of having a kickabout in the park?

That is just f'ckin ridiculous. In case he bites a Programme seller or steward ?

  7. Aye, full agreement but the only part I don't agree with is the club itself has been punished which is wrong in my opinion

FIFA have punished the player. The don't give a feck about Uruguay or Liverpool.

  8. If common sense is applied, he'll get a 4-6 game ban in line with violent conduct (which in turn will cause mass uproar and more hysteria and hopefully bells like Mills, Hoddle and Shearer will combust).

  9. Journalists are a funny lot.

Some like to portray themselves as a bit superior, know-it-alls if you like. Maybe some are but every journo I have ever met has been a really sleazy individual.

People attach too much importance to their opinions.

There is a long list of completely clueless bell-ends (e.g. Martin Lipton) whose opions are given far too much credence

I've only met one before (Hayward) and he seemed a genuinely nice bloke. I didn't mention he was a tw*t for helping for Fergie out.

How the old fecker isn't getting crucified amazes me. To add insult to injury a few days before a big game he doubts the quality of a player who was voted Player of the Year in England, topped the scoring charts and has proven to be World Class. Any other manager would have been torn apart by the media, yet this buffoon seems to come off as some sort of aging sympathetic figure who has given his life to the Engurland cause. Instead he is just a cushy, yes man that the FA seem to love who has achieved feck-all in the game..

Suarez has scored 5 in 7 in two World Cup finals.

Hodgson not only broke the golden rule of deriding the opponent before a game, but his point of view was utter bollucks to boot.

  10. Disappointed he couldn't find the time to kick Hodgson in the face, but great performance otherwise.

The 2nd goal was the biggest kick in the face Hodgson could have wished for.

  11. You are joking, they were a poor side with him during qualification. Without him, they have Forlan and an out of form Cavani.

2 of their 3 opponents are England and Costa Rica.

  12. Tony Barrett saying it's the same op as Torres in 2010 but it took 7 weeks recovery for him.

That's if you say he ever truly recovered...

SigN RicKy LaMbeRt. oR A crEwe stRiKeR.

    Connor Wickham :woohoo:

  13. Me n all. It's half a Liverpool side out there. I couldn't give a sh*t who the manager is and I'll go back to ignoring England once the new season starts. For now though, england will do. Owen's breaking through made the 98 World cup and 'supporting' England great. I didn't give a s*** that that w***** Glen Hoddle was in charge. I wanna see Sterling and our boys tearing it up on the world stage. I want to see Sturridge score the winner in a World Cup final.

Agreed. Feels a bit strange now (ignoring RFH) that England are a lot more worthy of my support these days. Partly because a lot of our lads are in the team (on merit, *cough* Carrick, Cleverly etc.) and partly because c*nts such as Terry and Cole are history.

Hoping our boys have a good World Cup, that sets 'em up well for another title assault next season.
