not sure on this view point. Lim was subject to a bid offer and was even told that he was the preffered bidder until the morning after, where, NESV became the front runner and then the "new owner" (subject to RBS winning against H&G). However, i do think, there is something in the fact he improved his bid, the morning of the case. This may be his ownn game though, and not something G&H constructed. Lim saw an oppurtunity to throw the case into chaos, by upping his bid, making him, the better offer. Or so it would be hoped.
