IIRC we agreed a fee with Barca for him as it didn't appear likely that he was going to renew his contract. Barca then released this story to the press in a bid to force Rivaldo's agent's hand. Rivaldo signed for Barca and Macca didn't. He then waited until the end of the season and joined Real on a free. That's about right isn't it?
