I'm a bit concerned that we've got a 12.30 sat after an 8pm Wed, and it's these, having had a full week's rest. Will be a tough one.
In my head we seem contractually obliged to always have to play Newcastle and Everton at theirs under the lights way more than the other way round. Almost deffo not true but I’m upset about it anyway.

I think that Burnley header was quite a hard chance tbh, bit harsh on the lad to keep criticising it.
Do you have to resign now cos of collective responsibility?

Yes, but the talk around both Ekitike and Isak is that the amount of detail Slot went into about his plans for them was what swung it.
I heard that talk around Wirtz and some around Ekitike too but it was only meant to be decisive in the Wirtz case. They’ll deffo be some plan for all of them though and I doubt anything untrue was pitched to Hugo.
I reckon Ekitike wanted to join the project as a whole as opposed to thinking “This guy has identified my ability to pick up the ball on the blindside half turn and wants to combine it with Mac Allister’s packing. Why has no one else seen this. I’ll be unstoppable!!!”

He's the fastest player ever to have played the game
It’s a real indictment in taller players isn’t it. Why don’t they just move their legs as quickly as he moves his and get to places before he does.

He’s hugely talented, potential is off the scale.
I think he is the signing excites me the most. The most blank space to fill in.
31 minutes ago, Begbie said:I thought that was for Wirtz, did he do it for Hugo too?
Wonder if he did it for Freddie Woodman?
You’d imagine he’d talk to all of signings and tell there where they’ll play.

Isn't this why Guardiola bought Rodri? No Tattoos and a standard haircut?
Aye, these people don’t get it with their woke free expression at all costs. There are roles on the pitch for that but these people who can’t get over that they aren’t young anymore can’t even see the link between David Luiz’s hair and his CB performances.
Try picking Albelda and Baraja out of a line up. You can’t. Good.

When Dom can’t get in the team ahead of Macca and Grav he can cry into his pigtails

He's a joy to watch at the moment, but no way he's meant that.
Footballers are well better at football than you think. They can process all sorts.

Look at how far and to what corners of the earth you guys are going to find double pivot midfielders with wild hair.
Dom needs to cut his hair and and tuck his shirt in. It’s not a big ask to achieve greatness.

He does give off a Giuseppe Giannini / Roberto Donadoni vibe. I’m alright with it.
Dunno the first but liked Donadoni.
I would be ok if he was a 10 or a winger but he is playing in a 2 man pivot. We need order. Look at Gravenberch. The men is kempt, groomed, well maintained. He knows what’s needed in that position.

I think he would be better if he tucked his shirt in and tidied his hair.

It ends when we say it ends.

Torres didn’t score on his debut. Ekitike has.

I'm sure it's not unique to where I grew up, but living in a small town and later a small city in ireland, I met at least six or seven fellas who all claimed to be European/Irish/World kickboxing champions. One of those blatant, ridiculous lies that was impossible to disprove pre-internet
It’s annoying when you genuinely are one.

Said Simeone was well lucky as he's a European Kickboxing champ and a bouncer and if he really wants some, he can f***ing have it
Men are silly.

I’ve been talking to mates who think it’ll eventually become a rule that contract extensions will only be negotiated during transfer windows.
I understand that it’s a distraction for the players but I can’t see how it’ll work and surely that would be detrimental to just to the clubs.
I know less than mates and maybe I am being dim.
Why and enforced how?-

I hate that you don’t play the same teams as your opponents but you are all competing for points. Just as a principle it seems bad. Doesn’t stop it from being entertaining although I’m not sure it was.
On a linked but separate note, I was dining after 4-5 games that we still had to keep winning. That’s probably a strength of the first but it did annoy me.

I am a bit confused by that one as he is a totally different profile to Wharton.
Would be hilarious to sign him after the mancs were all giddy about him in the summer though
Get both!

Gone under the radar how good he was yesterday; took the p*ss at times. Off the back of his Newcastle performance as well.
One of the few players that fatherhood seems to suit.
Still only 23. Potential is absolutely massive.
We were talking about in the Kerkez thread obvs.
Slot referenced his first time or short passing (can’t remember which) was where he could improve but I can’t believe how far the lad has come. I really liked him from the off but he can go further than I thought.
Do we reckon we can beat Vitinha and Neves now? They were genuinely outstanding v us I thought. We edged that second leg imo but we lost so who cares I spose.

the still image looks bad, esp eith the way his ankle bend - the video shows the Burnley player getting the ball well before MacA gets there and then there's the contact. Obvs you can win the ball and still clatter the opponent with a challenge deserving of a red - e.g Tarkowski on MacA last season - but that's not what happens here.
it's like this still i've seen posted many times by whining oppo fans
then you see the video of it - Virgil slides in, wins the ball clean and the opponent runs into his sphere and there's contact. It's just not a red card.
Agree with all this. Where we probably differ is that I think if any of them are reds then I’m shrugging my shoulders as opposed to thinking it is dreadful reffing. I think there is so much that you hear people talk about in definite terms and then you watch it and it is so much greyer.
I’m pretty sure Henderson went ballistic at Virg for that tackle and Virg looked sheepish as he was.

Virgil has his own tournament? If you win it then do you win him? Can I play?
