Unfortunately, it's a game where even fantastic players like Trent, Virg' and Allison are still capable of making simple and obvious mistakes. And when they do, very few of us think, "OK I'll let him off that one because of all the good things he's done in the past". The natural and immediate reaction is to react. It's mostly just short-term, knee-jerk stuff anyway. I don't take it too seriously when I read it. You'd honestly have to be mad to believe that such and such a player is actually sh*te, lazy, or just plain gash. They're professional footballers playing for the best team in the land.

I still can't understand why Pep Ljinders hasn't put his hand up for the job. Klopp has obviously been happy to accept his advice and influence during matches and as such he seems a great choice in carrying on Jurgen's work in a traditional Liverpool way. Maybe Pep felt he must go somewhere new so he could impose his personality and ideas upon a new set of players, or maybe the club don't have as much confidence in him after he didn't do that well managing before? Or is it simply he doesn't want to work in the 'shadow' of Jurgen? Whatever it is, because we've not heard anything from Pep himself, I find it hard to understand why he hasn't been considered or he hasn't considered the option.

Not that I'd prefer Nagelsman, but I thought he hated us anyway?
