I'm really sorry to have to ask this, but why did this song come about within the fans..?? What's the significance..??

many different stories circulating, but the true one is that it was started on the "Irregulars" away bus from the Oakie, when they only had a Johnny Cash tape and they played it over and over again. "Ring of Fire" was then heard in away pubs, and finally made its way to the ground, particulalrly at away games, and its kinda just grown from there.

 

on the Irregulars banner, they have another quote from a Rolf Harris song!
