Where's the best place to buy electronics from?

Any recommendations on TVs? I want 40" plus preferably, and not 3D.

As far as BluRays go Sony have a few good ones at decent prices.

HiFi systems and speakers... any recommendations?

I imagine I'll buy most of the furniture from IKEA, but I hate their sofas... where's good to go for them?

Cheers!

I could recommend some fackin awesome hifis and speakers but the matetr of budget might come into play.....

Worth considering a PS3 if you're going for a Blu-ray player as you will get that included as well as all the gaming stuff as well.

I'm a bit meh about Richer Sounds - their returns policy is shoite and their range of stock is fairly limited. If you've got a decent budget I'd go to a specialist hi-fi shop that will do in your home demos (there are two great ones in Warrington and I should imagine, a few in Liverpool as well), let you use stuff in situ before you buy. Decent hi-fi should always be tested in situ where possible (if yoiu're spening biggish money) and Richer Sounds, last time I checked, didn't allow you that luxury and if you deiced that you want to take stuff back, it's exchange only, no refunds.

Richer Sounds for you AV electronics. Tell them what you want and they wont steer you far wrong. Also have the best guarantees on the high street.

HERE

Furniture your best looking at IKEA, there are a number of sofa people in DFS etc. which I would avoid personally, They can look great but after a year or so will die a death.

All your other bits and pieces you should be able to pick up in Argos at a decent price.

If you really want to go bargain hunting check out the following website.

UKHOTDEALS

If you really are aftera bluray you have 2 options. Any blockbusters or HMV are doing a samsung bluray for £119 with 6 free BR's. (UP, Toy Story, Mamma Mia!, Bruno, Sweeney Todd and 300) CLICK

Or go for the best option which is a PS3. You'll get one with a couple of games and that for about £270 on amazon.

I took something back to Richer Sounds (admittedly in Brighton) a few months ago and they refunded the money in full, no questions asked. There's a time limit (a month? 45 days?), but I was a few days outside that limit and they still didn't mind.

I bought a Samsung UE37C6540 LED TV yesterday and it's brilliant. Picture's incredible and it's very slimline.

Paid £850 but they're doing an offer at the moment where you get £100 cash back (cos they're Eco, supposedly).

Watched a couple of blu rays today, the picture quality is magnificent.

I've heard the Sammys are the best at the moment, although there's a Sony I was recommended too.

If I can do the tv and sound system for under £2500 I'll be pretty happy.

I'm going to have to stick with the XBox360 over the PS3 I'm afraid, I can't stand the PS3 controller.

Several people have suggested DFS, but I think that's mainly cause they're on tv all the time with ads. IKEA will probably be where I get all the furniture from. Good shout on Argos.

That's a hell of a deal on the Sammy bluray, thanks for that. Anyone want to buy a copy of Mamma Mia! on bluray...?

Similar for me..... Was a few weeks outside the warranty on my dvd player and they replaced it with a better model.
