Football Aid 'Field Of Dream' - Donations Needed For Diabetes Charities

Recommended Posts

Don't know how many people saw this on .tv a few weeks back but I did and decided I wanted to get involved in Football Aid.

"Football Aid raises money by hosting events at the UK's largest Clubs allowing supporters the chance to 'Live the Dream' and play where their heroes have played on the hallowed turf of the Club they support.

The money I raise will go to a wide range of deserving charities, locally, nationally and around the globe. Through our parent charity, Field of Dream' multi-benificiary grant award scheme, funds will go to Diabetes research, education and management and also to charities nominated for funding by the Clubs that take part."

Basically, I need to raise £700 and then that money is distributed to diabetes research, education and management projects and in return I get to play at Anfield in April next year.

"Position Details - The minimum total amount to be raised to secure your position on your chosen Field of Dreams is £700. This is for the Game 2 Away no 8 shirt, which is a 45 minute playing position. Every extra pound you raise over the minimum will also go towards our charitable causes, so please try and raise as much as you possibly can!"

I'm going to change that and for every penny I receive over the £700 total, I will donate half to the Hillsborough Justice Campaign and the other half, as it says in my Football Aid pack will go as extra donations to Football Aid.

I was going to set up a new PayPal account but I can't have two accounts with the same bank details, so I am going to use my original account for the kind people of RAWK to help me raise the £700 before 13th December 2006.

Feel free to donate as much as possible to gray19lfc@btinternet.com using PayPal or if you can only dontate, cash or cheques, PM me and let me know.

I will update this thread with progess, such as when we reach the £100, £250, £500 landmarks etc. and then I will post photos from the event in five months time.

Mods, if it's possible please can you pin this topic to help me in my quest to reach £700.

Thanks to all who can help me out. Feel free to PM me any questions you might want to ask me and feel free to direct friends or relatives to this page, so that they can help out too.
