Right Mid; Gerrard, Garcia

Left midfield; Gonzalez, Kewell, Riise, Zenden

 

Strikers; Crouch, Bellamy, Fowler, (Pongolle)

 

 

My analysis is that the goalkeeping posititon hasn't improved, but it didn't need it.

 

Right back Kromkamp is in ym view a better player than Josemi so improvement there. It seems that Rafa might want to improve this position further by pursuing Trabelsi (and Alves).

 

Centre Back; definite improvemetn here, last year we had no back up to Sami and Jamie, but know we have talented youngsters who should be ready to play the odd game and gain experience.

 

Left back; I haven't see anything of aurelio, so not sure if he's an improvement on Risse he should however increase the depth as he's bound to be better than Warnock/Traore.

 

Right midfield; Still a problem that I'm confident rafa will sort this summer, if not we migth see Anderson get some games there this year.

 

Centre midfield; Although Hamman didn't get many games last season we could miss his experience in the big matches. I expect we will sign a young midfielder or maybe Hobbs can make the step up from the reserves.

 

Left midfield; definite improvement here with Gonzalez likely to take the first choice mantel away from Kewell, but real strength in depth with Aurelio and Riis also able to fill in.

 

Strikers; Bellamy should be an improvement on Ciise and Fowler looked better tha Morientes last year. Would still expect another striker to come in this summer though.
