although I am very concerned by our current form, having just watched the extended highlights (and yes, I appreciate you can't base everything on that), but looking at the game as a whole we weren't as bad as I was expecting.

For 45 minutes we were very good, scored, hit the post, create several other chances. However, no matter who you are, concede to very poor goals either side of half time will be a major blow. It was always going to be hard to come back in that situation even if it was in the middle of our good run at the start of the season. After the recent dross we've seen, I was hoping for a positive, commited response and I think that's exactly what it would have been had we taken one of our other chances in the first half or not conceded to stupid goals within a few minutes.

I appreciate it was a concern how we didn't threaten Spurs much in the 2nd half up until Torres goal, but that was probably due to our brittle confidence caused by the recent schite we've seen. When I look at the Porto, Portsmouth, Birmingham and Marseille shambles, that was much much much better.

The derby match could go either way if I'm honest, as it nearly always does, but a win from that and Besiktas and I'm very confident we'll beat Arsenal at home and go on a good run. Saying all that, a couple of poor results could see us out of the title race and could see our season tailspin into trouble. I really don't think that will happen, but quite simply Rafa has to keep to that side pretty much for the next few games to see us through them.

I went to the game and have also watched again highlights on Football First!

Have to say we looked better on the telly than we did in reality..I thought, generally,Torres had a mediocre game apart from scoring in injury time, but he looked good on TV!

The bits they missed out on the TV must make grim viewing.
