A brief bit I just came across on the final destination of some of our computers...

The clearest conclusion is the importance of not using toxic components in computers and gadgets.

 

The perfect situation would be for companies to have to pay for the disposal of everything they produce and guarantee the safety of those who do the work. That would force a complete rethink at the design stage: the use of toxic materials would be punished economically, and electronics built to be efficiently deconstructed and recycled.
