Both Man United and Chelsea games are live on tv and kick-off at the same time ?

Cannot remember this happening before apart from the last game of the season.

Both teams get a local game before the 2nd leg whilst we get to travel our furthest

It's a conspiracy I tell ya.

Got this from another board Kev :

It was believed that it was likely that the situation arose due to the Police. Before the TV games were chosen, Police had already requested that Everton v Man Utd be moved to a lunchtime kick-off. Police do not allow London Saturday 5.15pm games so Chelsea could not play in that slot.

The other factor was the Champions League which would have prevented Chelsea playing on the Sunday (as they are in CL on following Tuesday) so Chelsea game had to be Saturday 12.45pm.

But Man Utd could have played Sunday (as they are in CL on following Wednesday). It was not known for sure why Sky did not go for this option for Man Utd - ie Sunday lunchtime. Again possibly Police related if they had already earmarked the game for Saturday lunchtime.

I know the police will never allow an afternoon kick-off for Liverpool/Everton v Man United. They object extremely loudly about night games, and their fears were backed up with the Everton Valley 2005 incident.

The Everton game would have been moved by the police and Sky picked it up as a 'freebie'.
