Contracting through an umbrella company

I've been contracting at the same place (IT, Central Gov) for 2 years now and I'm about to get a pay cut (£50 min - £200 max per month) because the contract has gone over 2 years.

 

Once you've gone over 2 years you can't claim busines miles you see - mileage and subsistance mainly. I can't move umbrella companies or tender for my own contract as I'd still be unable to claim expenses.

 

I was told if you have been in one contract job for more than 2 years then you should get offered a permanent job but I don't think that's a legal thing.

 

Looks like i'll have to put up with the drop in cash until my contracts up in March.
