Visiting Liverpool for the first

Hello, everyone!

Well, in about 3.5 months I am going to fulfill my dream by visiting Liverpool. The main reason I am coming is going to Anfield to be in that incredible Kop athmosphere and watch my beloved team. With a little luck I'll be able to get my hands on a ticket to a home game against Bolton on 1st of January.

I am going to be in London for a couple of days before coming to Liverpool and I already made hotel reservations there, since some guys at work who've been to London recommended me a decent place at a decent price. I'm really clueless about Liverpool hotels, however. I was wondering if you could recommend a hotel in Liverpool that won't hold any unpleasant surprises for me. I don't really have very high standards, anything decent is ok:

1) Single room, bed&breakfast, with a shower and a toilet room.

2) Price: 50-55 pounds. Less is ok, of course :)

3) Preferably close to Lime Street, since I'll be getting to Liverpool by train

4) Ability to easily get to Anfield, of course. 30 minute walk is fine with me if buses are a bigger hassle.

5) Safe enough area to walk around at night times, since I'm not really a big fellow :)

I am currently browsing a website, called visitliverpool.com. If you know additional good info websites, that would be nice.

Any other Liverpool tips are highly apreciated: transportation, places to eat, pubs, places that are not related to football one should visit, places to stay away from, like Everton pubs, for example :), etc.

Thanks a lot in advance for any useful info!

Good luck to Liverpool tonight!
