In all my 40 years supporting Liverpool, that goal was the most deeply satisfying.

 

I think the more so because I watched it on Sky Sports. The whole expected scenario was that the blue schyte were going to rob Liverpool of the three points they so richly deserved. Andy Gray was blatantly roaring Everton on.

I was in the Gwladys Street up the other end, I actually thought i was gonna die, me and my mate had celebrated the other 2 goals so the blues**** knew we were reds, I just put me head down and dragged me mate down the stairs, I remember some blues**** on the stairs, telling me "we need to get rid of that Paul Gerard he's s****" I just agreed quietly. There was a Dad with a young kid crying and he said "Dont worry son they'll get f***ed by Barcelona on Thursday"
