    Riise

Fletcher dominanted Riise today. Very dissapointing.
  7. I thought Sami's passing today was awful which seemed to spread throughout the team and in the end we couldn't pass today.
  8. These are the reasons I hate internationals. Good news about Dirk.
  9. I think we will still be challenges right to the end. Ok we have had a bad start but we are only 6 points behind, and we know from last season that we get better and better. Also the other title contenders are not looking great and have shown already this season that they too can slip up. A win against Man u in a few weeks will get us right in there again.
  10. Yeah he seems to eager to do things, but as the came went on his crossing and all round play improved.
  11. His goal celebrations. He just loves scoring.
  12. West Ham are nothing but a feeder club for chelski, its a disgrace.
  13. just heard man usa could be in for Reo Coker
  14. I was one of the people who thought he was being wasted on the right and his best position was in the middle. However with his Player of the year performances last year and how all of a sudden he is playing brilliant on the right for England, i feel his best position is now on the right with a free role. Also i thought we missed Momo big style, although he dosen't use the ball great his tackling and energy is brilliant.
  15. So is this reply
  16. What a goal!!!!!
  17. He looked really strong and attacked the couple of crosses that came his way, where as Crouch would wait for the ball to hit him. Also create a couple of chances for other players and his little ball around the corner for Bellamy's offside goal. A good debut a goal would have been nice.
  18. I thought Gerrards passing was poor,by his very high standards. Also Momo and Zenden were afraid of the ball yesterday and would run away from the defenders. When they did have the ball they would waste possesion. In future Gerrard or Alonso has to start in the middle to dictate play.
  19. Liverpool agree £10m deal to sign Kuyt By Jason Burt Published: 17 August 2006 Liverpool's long pursuit of the Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt appears certain to end in success in the next couple of days with the two clubs likely to agree a £10m fee. Talks have intensified over the past 48 hours after Kuyt, who was last night due to appear for the Netherlands in their friendly against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin, again told Feyenoord that he wanted to move to Anfield. Indeed sources in the Dutch national squad indicated last night that they expected Kuyt to fly to England later today to discuss terms and is likely to be a Liverpool player in time for Saturday's opening Premiership match away to Sheffield United. The stumbling block, for some time, has been the asking price with Liverpool loath to pay more than £8m for the 26-year-old. Liverpool have offered players - particularly Jan Kromkamp - plus cash and have tried to negotiate a staggered deal on payments but the Dutch have attempted to hold out. A problem for Feyenoord is that few other clubs have registered an interest in the player despite the fact that he scored 22 goals last season, taking his total to 71 in 101 league games since he moved to Rotterdam three years ago. However Kuyt suffered a poor World Cup. He had hoped to move to the Premiership last summer, and was strongly pursued by Tottenham Hotspur, but decided to wait another season while Liverpool's only serious challengers have been Newcastle United. Their manager Glenn Roeder and chairman Freddie Shepherd flew into Dublin last night in the hope of watching Kuyt but their interest has not been as strong as Liverpool's who also have the bonus of, hopefully, offering Champions' League football. Newcastle also chartered the 10-seat private jet so that they could take their players from the Irish squad straight back to Tyneside after the match. Originally there were four players but following the withdrawals of Damien Duff and Shay Given only Stephen Carr and Alan O'Brien were due to be on the flight. Seems to be the same stuff from todays echo http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/pr...icle1219660.ece
  20. I was happy to see him play today. Was even happier when he put in a great display and didn't allow Drogba to bully him. Agger proved he could play against the best and Rafa will now trust him more and give him more games.
  21. I thought Pennant had a great game. Linked well with Finnan and Momo to create space for himself, also tricky enough to keep the ball close to himself. Was also surprised by some good passes from Pennant. Was frustrating, that in the first half everyone was trying to find Gerrard even when there was 3 men around him and another Pool player in a better position. Overall it was a good workout for the boys which should help them start the league off well.
  22. Rafael Benitez has named the following starting line-up for the clash: Scott Carson Jan Kromkamp Jamie Carragher Sami Hyypia Djimi Traore Bolo Zenden Steven Gerrard Xabi Alonso Jermaine Pennant Peter Crouch Craig Bellamy Subs: Jerzy Dudek Lee Peltier Jack Hobbs Gabriel Paletta John Arne Riise Paul Anderson Salif Diao Momo Sissoko Luis Garcia
  23. Well done mate.....remember if you don't ask you don't get, and thankfully for us you asked. Thanks.
  24. Done skysports breaking news
  25. Agree with you Duff can play a few positions and i have seen him play well upfront for Ireland on a number of occasions. So maybe Duff and Alves instead of Kuyt and Alves sky sports link Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle are believed to be vying for the capture of Damien Duff. According to Sky Sports News, Chelsea have given Duff's agent permission to speak with the Premiership trio. Blues boss Jose Mourinho declared earlier this week that he would allow the Irishman to leave Stamford Bridge if the right offer came in, sparking immediate speculation about where he might go next. Tottenham expressed an interest in Duff some time ago as they tabled an unsuccessful £5 million bid. Spurs were expected to up the ante following Mourinho's comments but may now have to pull out all the stops with rival heavyweights Newcastle and Liverpool entering the race to snap up the winger. Magpies boss Glenn Roeder has been frustrated this summer in his attempts to attract top class performers to the North East, but has reassured fans that he is still hoping to strengthen. The whole club are in need of a boost following Alan Shearer's retirement and Michael Owen's injury, and a player of Duff's calibre would undoubtedly satisfy a demanding set of supporters. Their chances of landing the 27-year-old flyer could recede this weekend though if they were to crash out of Europe against Lillestrom. Liverpool's interest is the most surprising, with Reds boss Rafa Benitez insisting that his priority was the right side of midfield, not the left. However, the Spaniard is determined to turn his side into genuine Premiership contenders and is keen to take every opportunity to bolster his squad. Having already secured the likes of Craig Bellamy and Mark Gonzalez, it is evident that Benitez has put a lot of emphasis on pace, while the prospect of UEFA Champions League football could sway Duff towards Anfield. The situation is sure to become clearer over the coming days, as Duff, Chelsea and the three admirers all weigh up their next move.
