STATEMENT FROM THE HILLSBOROUGH JUSTICE CAMPAIGN

I think Will is asking what is her new campaign.

From the HJC Statement : "We cannot understand why Anne has decided to concentrate her energies into fundraising for a new campaign when there is already in existence an organisation which has the financial means to support her in that fight (and which to date has done just that). "

Dear All

After due consideration of the response of the HJC in reference to my resignation. I would like to comment on the points raised of the circumstances of this. As far as I am aware and after discussions with members of the HJC, my letter of resignation was read out and the contents documented as points of record.

The HJC are well aware for the reasons of resignation, primarily I raised in my letter the following points:

1) Transparency of the group in reference to funds and money recieved

2) Lack of legal measures to protect the integrity of group and the other 95 families

3) Lack of support given during submission of memorial document

4) The groups point refusal to appoint an accountant and further refusal to adopt, both legal and moral process.

Not only do I have an obligation to protect myself, I also have an obligation to protect the other 95 families.

The HJC mention within the statement made; that they have supported me financially and emotionally throughout my fight for Kevin and the other 95 families. I am yet to understand how this can be, when some members endeavoured to stop the memorial mass at St Georges Cathedral, London and informing my solicitor that I no longer have funding available to me. Adding the financial support I have received from the HJC mount?s to no more than £5000.

My decision to resign was not an easy decision to make, not because of the support I would be loosing from them as a group, but hence the questions asked if and when I resigned.

After consultation with my Solicitor, and the expert advice of an accountant I came to my decision, this was so my personal integrity could never be questioned and so that I could continue in a honest and compliant manner to pursue the injustice of Hillsborough.

On a closing note, today is Maundy Thursday, Tommorrow is Good Friday, Saturday is the anniversary of the black day that destroyed all of our lives involved with Hillsborough, this should be a time of reflection, and a time of contemplation of those we loved. Instead I am placed in a situation where I am defending my actions which have only ever been honest.
