Wife Swap Star Charged

Wife Swap TV star Lizzy Bardsley has been charged with child cruelty offences.

 

The 32-year-old mother of eight faces a total of 10 charges.

 

They relate to incidents which took place over a nine-year period.

 

A Greater Manchester Police spokeswoman said she will appear in court on Friday.

A Greater Manchester Police spokeswoman said: "Elizabeth Bardsley was charged with the offences today.

 

"The charges relate to offences which took place between 1996 and 2005."

 

Bardsley, of Rochdale, Lancashire, shot to fame on the hit Channel 4 show Wife Swap.

 

She and her husband Mark were branded "scroungers" when it emerged the jobless pair received £37,500 a year in benefits.

 

Bardsley's loud-mouth antics led to a number of other TV appearances and exposure in the press.
