Why Chelsea lost....

The following is, honestly, a post on a Chelsea forum. After blaming everyone from the ref to UEFA to Liverpool (very common reason for all their misfortunes) to the media, they have settled on this:

"My overriding memory of last night's game is the image of yellow shirts all over the pitch. If I close my eyes I can still see them. Ask anybody who saw the game to close their eyes, picture a scene from the match and then to say the first colour that comes into their mind. I bet you its yellow (well it wouldn't be green I know!)

I believe that the fluorescent yellow gives Barcelona an unfair advantage on the pitch by making their players more visible and interfering with the view of the field for their opposition. I know they would complain about wearing white because of Real but that's tough. They should have worn white. In a fast-paced game a slit-second delay when looking up to find your teammate can make a difference. When your trying to tackle and keep your eye on the ball, the distraction of a bright yellow shirt can again cause problems.

I don't think the yellow was chosen by accident. It is the preferred colour for the jackets of emergency workers.

Should a complaint be made to UEFA?"

Sorry but....

I do remember reading some scientific study that said that the colour red was more visible in peripheral vision than most other colours and that as a result it was postulated that explained why so many sports teams that played in red were successful

I mean, look at this years Arsenal top and their performance...

I also remember reading that a certain Mr Shankly changing our strip to all red because it made our players look bigger

That said, this "study" said nothing about that fluorescent yellow they wore the other night. I bet they don't sell millions of those as replicas...

Re-written version, corrected to take into account reality...

"My overriding memory of last night's game is the image of yellow shirts running past blue shirts all over the pitch. If I close my eyes I can still see them strolling through at will. Ask anybody who saw the game to close their eyes, picture a scene from the match and then to say the first image that comes into their mind. I bet you its a floundering Chelsea player on his @rse (well what did you expect!).

I believe that their skill and passing gives Barcelona an unfair advantage on the pitch by making their players more capable of creating chances and scoring past their opposition. I know they would complain about playing more poorly, more like Real, but that's tough. They should have let us win. In a fast-paced game the team which passes, moves and controls the ball the best often wins. When you've spent all the money we have, the distraction of being passed into oblivion can cause problems.

I don't think that their players were chosen by accident. I believe they intended to make our multi, multi, multi million pound team look stupid.

Should a complaint be made to UEFA?"

Tiger Woods also started wearing red shirts on the last day of tournaments due to the fact that the colour is normally associated with danger i.e. I'm da man....
