Back him for the Grand Slam. He looks as lean as he did 6 years ago and very, very focused. Beat Els in a play off a couple of weeks ago and it might aswell have been a practice.

That's harsh Ernie chucked it away...the smart play would have been to lay up, seeing as Woods was off the back of the green, yet he choose to go for it..

What i meant by practice was that he didn't look like he was in a play-off. Munching away on a banana whilst Else took his time to get to the tee. He's swinging aswell as he has done in a long time.

Woods played 18th as he had done in regulation, almost identical actually.

Els drive was terrible for him, wasn't it ? And to go for the green from the ' desert ' rough was madness.

Ah, ok I misunderstood where you were coming from.....

I agree his swing is much better but his driving is still VERY unpredictable, he may have the odd good day here and there but if he doesn't get to grips with it I don't see him completing the Grand Slam. Not this year anyways...

his chances of a Grand Slam depend on the courses. he has no problem with Augusta and Royal Liverpool looks like it might suit his game.

Winged Foot and Medinah will probably be more difficult and alot will depend on the weather. New York in June will be warm and Medinah, Illinois in August will be brutally hot.
