Arsenal claim that their new stadium will be the most profitable in the world.

The Gunners will leave Highbury at the end of this season and start the next Premiership campaign in the 60,000-capacity Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal's managing director Keith Edelman says that the North London giants will surpass Old Trafford, even though Manchester United's base has 68,000 seats.

"We will earn significantly more in revenue. Our gate income will probably be the highest in the world," said managing director Keith Edelman.

"We will have 60,000 fans and higher-priced tickets - and more premium tickets than any other club in the UK."

Edelman has always insisted that transfer money and revenue to build the new ground were separate entireties and he says that is still the case.

"We have kept the finances of the stadium and the team separate. We have ample funds for transfer activities and to fund the new stadium.

"The stadium will not impact on our football team development.

"We recognise that people are not coming to look at a great stadium, but to look at the team and the team development is paramount.

"We will be much better off financially than we were at Highbury, once we move to the new stadium.

"The new stadium is a positive contribution. Immediately we move to the new stadium, we will be earning more money than we would at Highbury - with all the debt."

their prices are already a rip off...

60,000 fans and a team on the decline?

Arsenal are intriguing at the moment. Still got lots of good players, but more question marks than a post by A@A. I think Henry will scoot, Pires is getting on, and the youngsters will have to grow up fast to keep up with the likes of us.

Plus, they seem to be still splashing the cash, which is something many of us thought they couldn't do given the outlay on the stadium.

And all that without even thinking about what it must be like to be an Arsenal fan, and hear your Directors boasting that the tickets you're buying are the most expensive in the world.

Apparently, a four-year season ticket will cost...£19,000

Oh dear...Emirates will have to be their clients then and not just their sponsors.

Almost £5000 for a season ticket? Think you've got something wrong there!

They are no different from the Club Seats at Wembley, or the prawn sarnie brigade's seats in our own Upper Centenary in fact.

A fella at work has bought four for 'corporate entertainment' purposes.

Bulls***. An exec box for 4 years possibly.

Nope, I think he's got it right.

I remember reading that someone who was previously paying about 6 grand a year for four season tickets for his family was asked to pay up roughly £70,000 to keep his tickets. About £4500 x 4 x 4 (because he had to pay for four years up front).

Says here http://www.arsenal.com/userincludes/docs/a...l_brochure2.pdf

that tickets will cost from 355 quid for kids and 395 for OAPs to 885 behind the goal upto 1825 upper centre for normal tickets.

Edit: the "club level" prices quoted earlier are for a special number of rows around the stadium and include free half-time drinks and such.
