..............Meanwhile, even the most anti of Champions League haters cannot have been left indifferent by last week's draw. There is no journalese quite so annoying as the adjective 'mouth-watering', but for once I have to admit that the draw had me salivating all over the keyboard. And it seems I'm not the only one. They're raving about the four Spain-related games here, Liverpool no longer being considered an English side now by the Spanish press. Chelsea v Barcelona is simply nuclear, Real Madrid v Arsenal is hardly the stuff of fossil fuels, and Villarreal will justifiably fancy their chances against Rangers.

I have a place out in Spain and before the final the shirts where all Real and Barca with the occasional ManU but now the Reds shirt is everywhere, I wear a reds shirt on the beach and I get loads of comment from the locals, my barber has asked me to bring as many programs as I can for his friends, they appreciate the way we have taken their players to our hearts.

in the early 90's was barcelona considered dutch by their press then?

No more than we where French under Houllier, Not a lot of Spanish players have gone to the English game and none have ever won the European Cup with an English club thats for sure. The drama that was Istanbul was special to the Spanish because of the manager and the local players. I have the Spanish commentary of Alonso scoring the peno third goal as a ring tone and my Spanish friends just love to hear it. Talk about Aldo going nuts, these guys take the roof off.

You sure it's not Nando? He did a commentary where he was going mad!

the Spanish commentary that did the rounds after the final, was the one with Nando I do believe!

He wasn't doing the commentry as such - ie the nutter doing the 'gol gol gol gol goolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll de Alonsoooooooooooo, gol gol gol gol goolllllllllllllllllllllllll de Leeeeeverpoooool', but Nando was the one of what sounds like a multitude of people in the background going suitably nuts, I think Nando is the one laughing like a lunatic :D

LMFAO listening to it again! I'll do a transcript of the Smicer & Alonso goals one day when there's nothing else to do. Very funny

What I would love is the spanish commentary from the penalty shootout, although its possible that Moro went down pitchside for them. Anyone ever heard it or know who actually recorded the spanish comms?
