What players are back?, do we know about Grav, Jones and Isak?

Grav and Isak might be available according to last briefing I saw but I assume this means a bench place only.

Quotes from slot tonight on it. Grav should be fine but the other two more of a doubt.

Grav has the best chance per Slot, the rest unsure, giving them day by day assessments based on what Slot said.

Mac looks abysmal again tonight.

Dont know whats happened to him aside from the injuries, he hasnt had a single good half of football post recovery

The Harvey Elliott derby. He gets to sit on a different bench this time

grav back is very good news. If jones is still out then the team is straightforward: 4-2-3-1

keeper

bradley VVD konate Robertson

gravenberch szoboslai

salah Wirtz gakpo

ekitike

We need to legs and numbers in midfield

That’s 12 players so which of those 2 are you leaving out for Mac allister?

Harvey is ineligible to play this fixture, dont let that stop you tho.

Gakpo or Wirtz

Latter allows us to drop into 4 in midfield without possession, former gives us more natural balance

Neither ideal, but limited options

Jones gonna miss it then? I think we need him at the minute.

The problem is he is more often than not unavailable when we need him. He is definitely prone to injury

But you can’t pick 12 players so you need to decide which one to leave out

id pick them both

How do we think Slot will get the line-up wrong?

Are we talking Kerkez in goal levels?  Play Salah at 6?  Start Jay Spearing?

Or just a dull "same team that capitulated at Brentford bar Macca in for Jones"?

If Grav and jones are out then it’s gonna have to be Macca again.

Not getting a midfielder in is really hurting us.

Some of the decision making around that. Committed to buying Zubimendi, then converting Gravenberch. Almost never trusting Endo to play more than minutes at the end of a game but then keeping him for another season and not investing in a better option.

Meanwhile buying Wirtz for a billion pounds.

There isn't a clear plan through this

Let me see if I can figure out how this goes:

We'll start flat and concede an early goal.

We then try to play our way into the game, but nothing really comes off except when Szobo or Ekitike take matters into their own hands.

Wirtz produces a singular chance that someone should have done better to finish. Gets brushed off the ball and undercooks his passes otherwise. Salah snatches at a few quarter chances that go nowhere. Mac Allister looks like he's having a trial game auditioning for League 1.

We actually do score a goal, but regardless of whether it is an equalizer or pulling one back, we immediately fall flat again. If Villa actually need another goal to win it, they go and score the winner soon after.
