I reckon London will be locked down before the weekend. Virus is spreading really fast here. 28 days later here we go....

A lot of the meets for the gee gees have been going ahead, just behind closed doors. I guess the local bookies who have the stall up at the courses will be suffering but the high street and online branches may be not so much,

Must be tough on the horses to have to do that running indoors.

talking of lockdown in NYC - but it's not army on the street stuff - you can still go out to walk the dog, care for people in need, exercise, get food etc

we're not talking military curfew

Have you bought enough guns for the upcoming purge?

The carpet is probably quite nice for them to run on

Clearly not owned by someone who'd make them take their shoes off when they come inside...

In other news - the wedding of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on 29th May is still going ahead.

Don't think I'll risk going tho.

Ignore the Luke Kelly link, I was trying to copy/paste a link, and now I can't get rid of it.

Has the gee gees not been cancelled until the end of April?

Racing was abandoned as from today until at least early May

Although the Irish had just decided to continue

Me and my team will still I'll have to go into work frequently to keep the buildings in a safe, functioning state for people to return to. Can't just shut it down.

Johnson said he will bring forward legislation to protect private renters from eviction, be interesting to see what that entails

New forum software restores text you've previously typed in. You need to click on the "Clear Editor" link at the bottom of the reply box to get rid of it.

Yep. An instruction to shut down with financial help in grants not loans needs to happen without any further delay.

Mrs.C is having an operation tomorrow (thumb joint replacement  ) so we have had to get Alzheimer's-suffering Mother-in-Law into a home for the next week or so until the missus is recovered sufficiently to recommence caring for her mum. Took the m-i-l to the home this morning only to be told when we got there that they were on lockdown and we should have had a call to tell us not to take her in. We'd had no call so Anne stood her ground and the staff checked and, sure enough, no call had been made, so they agreed to take her in. But we've been told we can't visit her.

So, amidst all the trouble and uncertainty, some really fecking great news followed by some even better news.

So we're doing the sensible thing and getting hammered this evening.
