Weird football things/stats that just don't sound right

Recommended Posts

in 8 full PL seasons David Beckham only got more than 4 assists in his last one. in 4 of his 8 seasons he only had a single assist.

From Opta:

10 - Christian Eriksen is just the second player to assist 10+ Premier League goals in four successive seasons, after David Beckham between 1997-98 and 2000-01.

I don’t think Liverpool have been in front in a European Cup/CL final since Phil Neal scored in 1984.

Huddersfield have been in the top two divisions of English football for the past 8 years and have had a negative goal difference in every season despite being promoted in one of them.

Here's a better stat. Andy Robbo has one less Premier League assist this season than Lingard has in his entire career.

Robbo has only ever lost one game at Anfield, and that was when he was playing for Hull

From Popbitch of all places, now Poch has gone:

Every single football club that played Ajax in last season's Champions League has since sacked their manager.
