Couldn't do much for the first but on the second & third Pickford has dived after the ball just to show his passion.

VAR should just be a “coaches challenge” 1 per half or whatever.

Ref comes to pitchside monitor & reviews, consults 4th official if needs be.

If your challenge is upheld you don’t lose it.

Stockley Park is causing most of the problems with it all.

I like the way that works in American sports but I'm not sure it would work as well here as most of them are more stop-start than football.

Ultimately, even if a coach challenges, you'll still have the same people reviewing the situations. For me what's missing is the VAR ref having the courage to bring the on-pitch ref in to review more situations like the Lo Celso non-red. If both the VAR ref and pitch ref see that on the TV angles and decide it's not a red then the system is truly broken and both of them need sacking.

There’s no way a challenge could work in practice. Coaches are some times the best part of 100 yards away from the action.
