Trent Alexander-Arnold

hes made a difference in recent games when he has come off the bench... for a young full back thats a huge compliment. He is already very very good... scary what his ceiling potentially is..

I think its more likely that teams start playing their 10s or attacking mids at right back to ape our tactical evolution than TAA moves to midfield. We’ve just shifted the playmaker to a new position, have advantage of early mover, and the best player for the role.

Guardiola basically moved attackers into his midfield and we have moved a playmaker to RB. Where else can you fit in more attackers. We it’s not as if Brewster is going to breakthrough eventually as Becker cover.

TAA has instigated this approach himself

By being so ridiculously good

And klopp has had the nous to work out how best to exploit his brilliance

Recently I’ve felt the desire to see him midfield but he’d deffo be worse wouldn’t he.

Don't know about him, but we definitely would be. Neko Williams looks a very good mini-trent to be fair

Good point on us vs Trent’s fortunes

Have you seen that much of him. He’s welsh so you might have had been looking at him for a while.

I can’t believe the age of these humans.

he gets more space to move into where he is, and is in the right part of the pitch to whip crosses in, or hit crossfield passes.

he's not really playing right back anyway, more right midfield in a sort of 2-5-3 when we attack

He can only really do that mad switch of play to Robertson from where he is. I don’t see any benefit in moving him.

Gerrard and Beckham did it from the right mid position

Not taking anything away from him, but his high number of assists is also down to how good our forwards are. Bobby, for example, made a brilliant run to get the ball.

So right back is not the only position from where his long range passing could be effective

When Hendo is playing as an 8, he's often in a similar position to those which Trent takes up.

It's not silly, stupid or crazy to suggest Trent in midfield and Hoever at right back in 12-18 months time

And that shorter through ball / cross could be equally effective from midfield.

If we can get a right back who is an outstanding defender, Trent in midfield improves us.

I'd say it's more that he hasn't really been playing those passes from right back. He's brilliant where he is, not sure why there's a movement to get him somewhere else.
