It’s a don’t panic buy

£40m for Willy and £55m for Nilly.

Immobile rumoured to replace Suarez at Barca. Not sure if this rumour has legs. Lazio say Immobile is not going anywhere.

Suarez has, according to some  media reports, had his contract terminated as of now. If so, that seems to be an unbelievably stupid decision by Koeman. Is he forcing Messi out by getting rid his best mates, or is it a power play to let everybody know he's in charge?

If there was no fee involved,  would it be worth bringing him back to Anfield?

Chelsea close to signing Chilwell for £50m. I don't know how they're planning to make the books work

Havertz, Werner, Ziyech, Silva and chillwell looks to be around £200m outlay. They've had a net transfer profit of ~160m over the past 18 months.

Combined with the allowances made due to corona in FFP, I don't think it will be too much difficult for them to reconcile the books. The cash obviously is there, so it's only a matter of the books.

Wouldn't surprise me if they could sign one or two more. They have a huge playing staff to sell off if needed.

What Chelsea are doing is something united could easily have done in consecutive seasons to rebuild their team. I am just glad the numpties running their outfit are more interested in your maguires, wan-bisakas and grealishes.

It won't be Koeman doing this it'll be the President. That's how things work at Barca.

Messi can join PSG and continue sulking when they lose to us next year in the final. On lifting the cup Mbappe rips off his PSG top and signs live on the pitch for us.

who in world football apart from City - or Chelsea if Abramovich could be bothered anymore - can afford Mbappe now?

Players have to be careful when they move now b/c transfers are so nuts. Fernandez going to ManU - if they don't win a bunch of stuff, he'll want off; but they'll want daft cash & he'll be stuck. DeGea was unquestionably the best keeper for a bunch of years but he's 'only' won 1 League 1 FAC, 1 LC and 1 UEFA Cup at ManU - and a UEFA before he joined.

Pogba - 27 - a LC and a UEFA with ManU

Morata going for £50m+ this summer helps. Also sold Pasalic for £15m.

That's true, actually pretty clever delaying the Morata money. Just getting that money for him in the first place is some deal.

The managers don't make those sort of decisions at Barca, they just coach the side, they've little input in transfers.

I'd have Suarez for no other reason than he'd piss off all of Manchester. He's probably not got the legs now but he's still got the heart.

I mean he's obviously not as quick as he used to be, but he still ended up with 21 goals last season

Chelsea ain't pissing about it seems. Would be a great window for them if it all comes off

Chelsea are on course to spend more money than in any previous transfer window after agreeing deals to sign German 21-year-old midfielder Kai Havertz of Bayer Leverkusen and Paris St-Germain's Brazilian defender Thiago Silva, 35. (The Times - subscription only)

Thiago says he will decide his future in the next 24 hours. (London Standard)

outrageous career stats - 413 in 646, or thereabouts

Posted this on RAWK, but worth reposting here:

Using TransferMarkt, just some stats for key players (these are overall stats including pre-2010):

Goalscorers and the two freaks
Messi - 730 games, 634 goals, 285 assists
Cristiano - 850 games, 638 goals, 223 assists (but many of these were pre-2010 which is why he wasn't in that above 2010s assist list - probably just short of it)
Suarez - 611 games, 405 goals, 231 assists (!)
Lewandowski - 587 games, 409 goals, 118 assists
Aguero - 636 games, 372 goals, 119 assists
Ibra - 761 games, 467 goals, 185 assists

Playmakers
Ozil - 600 games, 105 goals, 216 assists
Di Maria - 593 games, 141 goals, 214 assists
De Bruyne - 450 games, 103 goals, 173 assists

Basically, Suarez is assisting as much as, or more than, the renowned playmakers actually are and scoring favourably as (or better than in fact) compared with the top goalscorers not named Messi or Cristiano.

And that doesn't even include Suarez's "dummy" assists - I reckon he's probably racked up at least 10+ of those for Barca alone, or any penalties he's won that Messi  or other Barca penalty taker (why are they all awful?) have invariably failed to convert.

For me, he's head and shoulders the best striker since Il Fenomeno pre-injury, with Lewandowski, the second coming of Ronaldo, Shevchenko, Eto'o, Henry, Aguero and a few others below him.

Here is a separate list with different numbers, but it all points to the same thing - that Messi, Cristiano and Suarez are the only three players since 2001 to appear in probably a top 10 scoring AND assists chart (you'd likely have to get to Ibrahimovic to find another player who would also be in the scoring chart, and he's #14 on the assists list here)

Wolves close to signing Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Arsenal. He's looked like one of their better prospects, surprised they're letting him go.

Think they need to get a bit of money in don't they? Probably that they might have to sell players they could make an argument for keeping but the money just decides it for them.

Could well be it yeah, I suppose they're relatively well stocked in midfield and at right back and they've a load of positions where they're weak
