Well, the Russians do indiscriminately bomb hospitals and neighborhoods and are top mates with Assad. So, there’s that. I think they deserve a fair amount of vilification.

id say  with a good degree of certainty that the Russians have bombed fewer hospitals and neighbourhoods than the Americans in the last 20 years

Where are the US currently deliberately targeting hospitals? The Russians are doing it right now in Syria. They are given the coordinates of hospitals under the so called deconfliction mechanism, so it is unambiguous and deliberate. It is the most revolting war crime imaginable, except for perhaps gassing civilians. And of course they've provided the cover for the Syrian regime to do that.

US foreign policy across the world in recent decades is littered with catastrophic mistakes and war crimes. But you can criticise that without resorting to apologetics for the disgusting crimes of Russia, or a sort 'they're all the same' type analysis which is lazy and ignorant. Russian dominance in Syria is a catastrophe for human rights and the protection of civilians. All they'll be interested in is propping up the regime and crudest form of exploitation of the country.

It's terrifying and heartbreaking to think of the implications of Assad domination over the NE, and Russian support will roll back whatever limited experience of self governance and security that the Kurdish led administration had created there.

Look at what's happening today both in Idlib and the NE. It's mind blowing that any can write off the catastrophe with glib assertions that Russia and US are just the same so it doesn't matter.

This does all have a whiff of being some deal that was made between Trump and Putin.

A whiff? This thing stinks to high heaven. It's clearly a 3 way plan with these 2 and Erdogan. At some time in the future, Trump will announce some shiny new tower and Putin will be selling oil/gas to Turkey. All for the bargain price of a little ethnic cleansing and land grabbing.

If only there was some worldwide organisation that could look into these events.

“They’ve got a lot of sand over there,” Trump said. “There’s a lot of sand that they can play with.”

WTF is it going to take to get rid of this blight on humanity?

Yeah, maybe you are right. They’re not such a bad lot I suppose. Good old Russia.

im not saying good old Russia. What im saying is I dont think good old America has any right to get all high and mighty about bombing places with the amount of civilian blood on their hands in recent years

UN investigating reports that Turkish forces have been using white phosphorous. If that's true what'll be done, that's seriously f***ed up s*** if true

The same as when the US used it in Fallujah or when Israel used it in Gaza and Lebanon. f*** all.
