This is more like it

Went and got two dogs today from the rescue centre. 1-year old female called Sophie and another 1-year old little mad bundle of fun with three legs called, harshly, Wuhan. Sophie had been abandoned to

My family and I have had quite the adventure this past few months. We had been planning our move to the North East coast of Florida for many years. Our son was settled in at the University of Central

Yeah.. And ozrics complaining about the levellers being on at same time splitting the crusty vote.

1992 was the first year that "new age travellers" weren't allowed in free I think.

I remember tickets were, a then quite pricey,  £49 and probably went up sharply each year but it took a few years for them to sort out the wall - so people were getting in free for a while.

I think it was 94 or 95 when the wall at one part of the site actually came down and 10's of 1000's poured in. They reckoned by the Saturday the number of people there was around twice the number of tickets sold.

Even after the wall got bigger there were still some scams - a of mine got in one year by driving up to the traders entrance in a van he'd borrowed from the local ice cream company he worked for and said they had an urgent delivery for the Milk Bar (which did exist) as they'd run out of ice cream and they hadn't had time to organise the paperwork in the panic - they just let him :)

I'm guessing they're a bit stricter now. ;)

Last two games of the first round of NBA playoffs have really gone to the wire, I still have no f***ing clue what's going on a lot of the time but it's exciting enough

Yeah I've always quite liked basketball.

It's fun to watch but, like most US sports,  it's just so bloody stop start - an advertiser's dream.

There’s a full, or 7/8 moon and no clouds and no light as there’s been a power cut and I’m surrounded by forest so there’s hardly any pollution

this moon - it’s so bright it’s hurting my eyes

I hope it isn’t some kind of ‘phenomenon’ like in Day of the Triffids

update: power is on again

have to take the rough with the smooth round these endz

Well you have to be careful not to fall back on familiar comforts

I’ve been tee total for 6 days, which is the longest I’ve been without booze in a foreign land for over 25 years ( previous record: 1 day)

and I am completely on my own, no woman for a month

but I go to the villages and speak French

if it hadn’t been for the possibility of werewolves I’d have gone for a moonlit walk just now

Ha. Was when I was married. My ex enjoyed bargain hunt on her days off, so I arranged for us to go on the show as contestants.

But now you’re a professional broccanteur

show ‘em who’s boss

Sounds a bit like a monastic lifestyle, which can be good at times. We are all changing.
You may find a new life there and have no need for the city life, or the chasing of premier league points.
I wish you well.

Well I’m here til December so that will be 5 months

monastic is unlikely though as a long term proposition

Although that said, there’s the collapse of society to consider

Words you're not used to typing: Wife.

Proximity of F and D on a keyboard? Problematic.

I can imagine "My beautiful wide" not going down too well :)

How did it all go in the end? She make it back to Thailand?

Yeah ta man she got back there last Tuesday. Doing 2 weeks' quarantine in a hotel now. And just about staying sane by the sounds of it. My turn next hopefully, all being well I can fly over in a couple of weeks' time if the paperwork all goes as it should. No booze for two weeks in a hotel room is going to be interesting.
