Bernie drew a crowd of 9500 in Wisconsin. If he keep these numbers up around the country then the Clinton campaign needs to start taking him seriously.

Just from March till now he's raised nearly $15 million from about a quarter of a million different donors. Hilary has raised about $70 million in the same time but its been majorly from big business with far fewer donors.

She's raised $45m in the first 3 months since her campaign became official (a record!) and 91% of her money is from donations under $100.

Its all over the net.

it's working. jeb bush is coming across as almost moderate and likeable.

maybe trump's mental, hugely offensive comments about mexicans are some ploy to get mexicans and hispanic americans in general irate and then in steps bush with his mexican wife and his speaking spanish and somehow pulls across a load of the hispanic caucus to the GOP?

just been watching rachel maddow from yesterday, what i didn't know is that fox news effectively decides who can run as a GOP candidate and who can't. one month from today is the first GOP debate, it's on fox, and fox has decreed there will only be 10 candidates on the stage. this is worked out according to fox's own methodology of the top 10 worthy republicans which at the moment doesn't include seemingly always-popular rick santorum for one but does include trump. so it's basically now about ensuring you get plenty of fox news airtime, speaking on subjects that appeal to roger ailes and making sure you're in the 10 on that debate stage. fascinating. in a totally undemocratic and horrible way like.

It's going to backfire on them. Hispanics have been very suspicious of the GOP and this salts it for them.

Cruz's defense of Trump is going to hurt him Texas too which will be very welcome.

trump's campaign put out a graphic yesterday of him and the US flag with a photo of nazi soldiers superimposed over it. they quickly deleted the image and tweet but it was too late. so the donald blamed it on an intern. top man.

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/jul/14/donald-trump-nazi-soldiers-tweet-top-republican-polls

he's leading the polls in a farage-esque way, just ranting about immigration and getting support from rednecks. soon as he has to speak on any other issue whatsoever he'll drown again. there's only so far you can go on just shouting "let's make america great again" before you get exposed as a clown.

He's leading in part because there are a lot of candidates, many of which are similar in stance so cannibalise each others support, as they drop so will his position. It's also a poll with 5.5% margin of error which could mean a very different result if the GOP voted on the candidate tomorrow.

he'll also fall by the wayside because he has literally zero chance of winning an election. the RNC will have to step in at some stage and tell him to just stop and he's damaging their one or maybe two candidates who might actually have any chance of beating hillary.

dunno. perhaps this is good for the RNC, cause he makes the rest of their candidates look pretty reasonable in comparison.

not sure. he's got some momentum based on one single, massively divisive and xenophobic issue - and they know after the last election that they've got to appeal to voters they don't normally appeal to if they want to have a chance of winning the next one. hispanic caucus, african-american vote, women. trump is dragging them to the right so to get near those votes their eventual nominee has got to go back towards the centre which is what romney did last time and it didn't work.

they're making themselves unelectable. stupid number of candidates, fundamentalist beliefs that fly in the face of popular opinion in the US, inability to adapt to a changing cultural and societal landscape. all underpinned by the hate propaganda machine that is fox news.

they'll end up making their campaign about iran now and they'll probably try to hammer hillary on benghazi. always with the war.

I think it may be cleverer than you think, what the loons do is firm up the loon vote, they'll have f***ed off long before the GOP is tainted with them and they'll go with someone who can count on mainstream support. GOPers are going to stop being GOPers because some of them are loons.

I can see him breaking away from the debate process. Possibly making himself an independent candidate like Perot, and then damaging the Republican vote.

My bet is that he finds some excuse to bail out way before the election with the usual claims of how awesome he is and that he has more important things to do.

oh it's possible yeah - although i think the loon vote turnout was high anyway last time around and was the least of their problems really. the loons voted GOP regardless even though they all thought romney was a wishy-washy liberal. jeb bush is their main hope this time mainly it seems because his wife is mexican and he speaks spanish. but trump is currently alienating the hell out of every hispanic in america. so bush could end up facing neverending questions about whether he plans to build a wall to keep mexicans out like donald suggests rather than getting to pitch his own campaign.

he's a fool, he's going to sink the whole Republican ship before it sails.
