New home kit

Right, so supporter disquiet can influence future club decisions. But I thought your point was less about the futility of complaining about kits, in terms of practically changing anything, and more about how childish it was. (You said you couldn't understand why adults cared.) I was responding to that, not to the (un)likelihood of someone getting sacked over a kit design.

I do think football shirts are largely for children and footballers to be fair, that is correct.

Supporter disquiet can get managers sacked, don’t think it’s gonna get a different kit though.

I will never cease to be amazed by how much adults care about football kits.

Haha, I was having this conversation with some mates who, like you, are baffled by why people give a f*** about football kits.

I would imagine those of us who do probably have at least a passing interest in design and aesthetics generally; whether it's buildings, album covers, clothes, paintings, photos or the composition of frames in a good hentai.  That said, I'm sure it's possible to have an eye for some of these things while not giving a f*** about football kits.

And yeah, there's f*** all you can do if you don't like a kit other than experience a mild feeling of dissonance when you watch Liverpool play until they unveil the next cash-in kit.

Not sure what this means, wasn't that a thread where he no-showed a meeting with NYR?

What happens if you don’t like it? What do you do?

Surely you want to like a kit so it's worth buying and the club benefits

Sold out on Nike website.

judging by the queues to get on the LFC online store, it may do the same there.

I thought people buy a kit cos of the badge on the front as opposed to anything else but I’m about as disconnected from the purchasing of football kits as possible.

Inspired by the kit from 93-96... Halcyon days.

Indeed. As Cunny retweeted "it's like Tony Blair wearing a 'Visit Baghdad' t-shirt".

Yeah, I didn't mean the financial benefit was the sole reason.

It's rancid.

Maybe they’re buying it in a some sort of united act of disdain

I don't like it, the collar is terrible, the key to a good kit is just keeping it simple. Why can't an all red kit be sufficient?

Get rid of the teal and it's decent.

Is that what people are kicking off about? Looks like a football kit.

So dunno if this is just being conspiracy theorist but this kit deal with Nike means we get x% from all sales. But apparently the % we get from direct outlets eg Nike outlets and lfc stores is higher than we’d get from those like sports direct, jd and other sports shops as they will buy it from Nike at wholesale. Therefore will Nike minimise the number they sell from their stores, hence they’ve sold out at day 1, and shift loads towards other sports shops so they don’t forgo as much of the profit?

My mate Nick, who I sit with at the game, had the 93/94 manager’s jacket, with the same colour scheme and I was very jealous.

I might buy this one just to f*cking show him.
