Snowboarding stag do

I have been tasked with arranging my mate's stag do. My mate enjoys his snowboarding and has insisted on his stag do being a snowboarding jamboree (my words).

My snowboarding experience amounts to 2 days' lessons at the Chill Factor in Manchester, and this is substantially more than most of our mutual friends. As such, I have little to no idea of where is good, or suitable, or sensible, or cheap, or anything really.

So - can anyone recommend a ski/snowboard resort that would be decent for a stag do that incorporates some snowboarding of some sort, for people of differing abilities? Also, has anyone ever been on this kind of thing - what other activities can be incorporated? How well do these things usually go down?

If time of year matters, it will be in early January. This in itself is a difficulty, but there's little that any of you could do to help with that.

Thanks in advance and such

Tell him he can wear his cool snowboarding gear ... but you're still going to Amsterdam/Berlin/Prague and he can wear that while he gets done by a 6 foot hooker wearing a strap-on.

He's a snowboarder - he'll know he's got it coming.

All valid points. The only thing in its favour is that at least everything will be set up for a winter Stag do. I did a Berlin Stag in winter once, and by Christ I wasn't ready for the cold.

Possibly more my fault than others, but still.

Less of a difficulty that if it was in mid-August to be fair.

How about somewhere cheap and cheerful like Andorra.

It's likely to be colder in whatever w***y resort you and his dull mates turn up in next January - nothing will be "set up" differently, you'll just be dressed differently (like c****).

In all seriousness, he does sound like a c***. If some of the guys haven't been before, is he expecting them to lay out for all the gear just for his stag?

Honestly, you need to sack it/him off.

Las Vegas is alright in January.

I'm sure his Bride to be will appreciate the inevitable broken leg / pelvis / collarbone* he'll end up with, days before the big day.. still, he sounds like a bit of an inconsiderate prick anyway.

Borovets.

Snowboarding's cheap, beer's cheap and there are titty bars.

correct

and due to the lack of health and safety, you can have a sweep on how many will do themselves in

basically, you can watch the bodies accumulating at the bottom of the main run on an hourly basis if it's icy

also there's a massive hotel, called the Rila or something

next to the main lift, swimming pool, superb brekkie and prostitutes, thieves etc all mill around with the guests and at the bar in the vast open plan lobby

it's stagtastic if you're looking to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat

yer mate's still a total c*** though

punk him...punk him good

Bulgaria was cheap and full of live sex shows and hooker... Borovets. You can thank me later.

Ah I've been beat to it... If you stay in the samkov they run ski lessons/snowboarding if your into that sort of thing. It also looks like something out of Soviet Russia!

Thanks all. Especially for the abuse for him, it'll be passed on. Perhaps in the best man speech. "Finally, my internet friends sent their wishes..."

Anyway, reckon it'll be binned off. Best case (for him) will be we go to or near a resort, then whoever fancies it can go boarding, the rest of us can go on the pop.

Definitely go to Borovets, there's stuff to do apart from snowboarding - we went on a skidoo trip that we organised on the side (there are 'official' ones you can do through most hotels) up into the mountains with the drivers passing joints and hip flasks round.

It's pretty much a parody of a corrupt eastern european ski resort.
